What Is This Website About

The purpose of this website is to provide a way for people to leanr about the best adventure TV shows out there and how to plan their own adventure trips around such shows. There are some very extreme shows like Naked and Afraid that most people will probably not want to try and copy, but the basics of these shows can be done by most people.

adventureAll you really need is a sense of adventure, willingness to step out of your comfort zone and at the same time see the fun in such adventures. I have been on many adventures and as a retired Army sergeant I have a lot of experience that I like to share with friends and family.

On this site you will also find some TV show and episode reviews of my favorite programs. One of my favorite entertainers is Bear Grylls. I know there has been a lot of talk about the fact that a lot of his programs are just for show and when it gets dark and the cameras are turned off he retreats to a comfortable hotel.

To be honest, I don’t care about that. What I care about is the advice he gives to his viewers and in that regard he is spot on. His own military background certainly helps with that and he gets his guests to massively step outside their comfort zones.

In many cases these are very wealthy celebrities who live lives very far removed from anything they experience on the show.

Some of the shows definitely go to places that would not be that affordable to most of my readers, which include the southernmost reaches of Patagonia or the Australian outback. But there are plenty of episodes that you can try and recreate in practically any State in the USA.

One thing I would caution of though is trying to attempt any of the abseiling without a trained professional. Yes, you can get a few lessons and think you are all set, but this is where things can go horribly wrong.

I always suggest that people focus on the basics first, like hunting and gathering food, making a camp and fire and getting to know their natural surroundings.

If you have any particular requests on how to plan your own adventure TV episode then please use the contact page and I will write up an article as requested.
