Just saw your show on ESPN (June 8, 2008) in which you purport to be fishing in the waters of Cocos Island. That's curious because, though you failed to mention this in your "show", Cocos Island and the waters surrounding it happen to be a Costa Rican National Park and fishing is banned.
So, either you're a fraud or you are no sportsman. In either case, you're a disgrace to the sport of fishing.
If you were, in fact, fishing in Cocos waters, you should be in jail rather than a TV showman. Moreover, all your sponsors should be boycotted should be cancel your show and ESPN. You can be sure, that is exactly the campaign that will begin immediately.

Hey Anonymous,
Vent? Get a life? Opinion?
Do you understand what it means to purport to been game fishing in a marine sanctuary?
That you would find nothing wrong with someone being proud of violating national and international law, indeed, seemingly inviting others to do the same suggests precisely the danger of that irresponsible show. It appeals to idiots like you who have no respect for game fishing as a sport but, rather, see it only as entertainment and, quite likely, get their adventure vicariously.
Let me repeat, these people purported to have been game fishing in Costa Rican waters that are protected both as a National Park and as an international marine sanctuary--where ALL fishing is banned. Does that resonate in your brain at all?

scuba douche:
If you watch the show, it is explained and repeated numerous times, that fishing with 15 miles of the island is strictly prohibited. But the island is still the closest thing they were fishing too, so its not crazy to say they were fishing the waters of cocos island.
There was even a segment where they went on shore to visit with the enforcement officers. It was made very clear that the only thing they were doing very near the cocos island shore was diving.
You can go back your hole now.

Don't worry all the other readers in this blog knew that Scuba Diver had his facts wrong!!
Do you really think the team would be that silly to jeopardize what they do!
Scuba Diver, it's obvious Offshore Adventures is not your favorite show so mate JUST DON'T WATCH IT!!
The Offshore Adventures team does a great job when it comes to getting the Conservation message across. Remember, they love our ocean's as much as we do
Keep up the good work guys & gals

Geez I would have thought there would have been at least an apology Scuba diver.
You had the 'balls' to come on here throwing accusations & names around everywhere so why wouldnt you have the decency to apologize!
I respect your passion for the ocean but please ensure you get the facts right before criticising next time

There's always one in every comment section. Either way best wishes on the trip and can't wait to see the first footage of the journey. Additionaly I am also excited to see what exotic things David cooks up while travelling the world and bringing in some of the local spices. Can't wait!
Wow! You all are correct. If you are a fan of the show you know they are ALL about conservation. Whatever! Glad to see there is so much support for such a great show!
